30 years ago on this day the third album by The Clash, London Calling, was released. It is still considered to be one of the best albums ever recorded and features an astonishing amount of marvelous tracks. One of our favorites is Guns of Brixton which in the above recording has a nice dubbed out feeling to it due to the bad quality of the recording equipment.
The lovely people at Thursdays don't suit very well will have us tonight in the course of their "Festival of Contemporary Blah". 21:00, Nadlerstraße 14, Studgart.
Die Wende war eines der ersten Projekte von La Conca. Unser Bestreben war es, die florierende Discoszene im Osten, wie sie der oben verlinkte Beitrag zeigt, mit der westdeutschen zu vereinen.
The representatives of the La Conca Space Colony, Cpt. Béla Fonte and Lt. Tough Terry, provide their first two-part report on the colony's research in the fields of passion, desire and prolonged rapture.
1,5 Weeks ago the representatives of the La Conca Space Colony joined forces with their close friends of TDSVW and enjoyed the great Music of Erobique. In the transmission above we try to recreate a little bit of the awesomeness of the show.
A few weeks ago some Japanese dudes visited the Colony and bought all our old control-panels. Today we know what they did it for: They built business-card cases out of them, which you can purchase here for roughly 30€.
30 years ago on this day the debut album of Cabaret Voltaire, Mix-Up, was released. It features one of the colony’s most beloved Cabs tracks, the dark love song No Escape. The original version of No Escape was recorded by the psychedelic garage rock band The Seeds for their self titled debut album. Happy Birthday!
Well, well. All that improved thermal insulation and warm atmosphere in the colony does not prevent its representatives from catching a severe cold. But we're a competent team that can keep the quality of its work high, no matter how many of us are sick. Anything else would be unprofessional!
The Association wholeheartedly reccomends the following gathering of musicloving citizens of Stuttgart:
16.10.2009 MB presents CYBERNETIC DISCOTHEQUE II Intergalactic Gary (Viewlexx / CBS / IFM, Den Haag/NL) Traxx (Nation / Crème Organization, Chicago/USA) Mick Wills (Gigolo / MinimalRome / Automatic-Datamatik, Stuttgart/D) www.climax-institutes.de
"...Stuttgart darf also gespannt sein auf eine wahrscheinlich noch nie dagewesene Mischung aus aktuellen Sounds, Chicago, Detroit, Italo Disco, Hi-NRG, Cosmic, Minimal Synth, EBM, Industrial, Acid und Electro."
Living in space is a lot of fun, especially because of the great music everywhere in the colony. But as you can see in the transmission above we also have to struggle. But we struggle in style.
Childhood days... the boy is now the biggest Nana Mouskouri impersonator at La Conca as you may have guessed because of his doll. The girl used to bully him and is actually quite nasty.
The question the Association is asking itself for some days now is weather Vincent would have become a Pirate after removing that body-part, or if he would have stayed an artist.
We had one of these humble robots that clean the floor at the colony. But after he killed some of the crew-members we decided to throw him out. If you are OK with the killing, get one of these here.
Space is an often overused metaphor. But this is not a spoof. Get some facts - we made it. We are the La Conca Space Colony, the first self-sustaining space colony of this placid city. Discolate yourself into this orbit, Stuttgart!
