On the Warpath

You might have wondered about what is going on at the colony, since our last transmission happened a long time ago and even back then the reports were sparse. Well, as you can imagine life in space not only has its benefits but also dangers one does not always expect. As it happened the orbit of our colony was crossed by some clouds of cosmic dust which mutated some of our animals we keep for supplies and entertainment. Taking care of these poor creatures had of course absolute priority so we had to pause our research.
However, thanks to our dear friend Tito Puente we were able to get rid of most of the mutants and are about to resume our program. The first thing to do is to show you our brave combatants in the above transmission. We hope that the wounded will get well soon.

Thank heavens there are some millionaires and the Russians who still make it possible to visit our colony for anyone who is interested.

A House is not a Home

You might have realized that each year the transmissions from the Colony get rather sparse in March, April and May. The reason for that is pretty simple – since by now you should know that the most members of the Colony’s crew have their roots in Stuttgart, Germany, you should understand that the Colony is designed to make living in the happy orbit as easy for the crew as possible. That is why the creators of the colony decided to recreate the four seasons up here as well – and so, around April, all of us decide to leave their Googie-houses and enjoy the artificial sunshine here at the Colony. But at the end of May we decide to return and take our research up as if nothing has happened. You should do that to, from time to time.

I think I got to sneeze

Well, well. All that improved thermal insulation and warm atmosphere in the colony does not prevent its representatives from catching a severe cold. But we're a competent team that can keep the quality of its work high, no matter how many of us are sick. Anything else would be unprofessional!
